Jessica is a Colombian-American writer, editor, and educator with a career spanning over 15 years. Her writing has been published in the New York Times, Time Magazine, Self Magazine, Elle, Teen Vogue, Parents, and Oprah among many others. Holding an MFA from Columbia University, Jessica specializes in Creative Non-Fiction with a joint focus on Literary Translation.
In addition to teaching memoir and personal essay workshops, her ghostwriting and editorial portfolio encompasses graphic novels, children’s books, autobiographical novels, memoirs, and hundreds of essays. These projects have led to collaborations with top-tier outlets and publishers such as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, Tin House, Paris Review, Vogue, and New York Magazine, as well as Simon & Schuster, Harper Collins, Viking, Random House, FSG, and Macmillan.
Emphasizing the importance of diverse narratives, particularly those of women, non-binary individuals, and the Latinx community, Jessica does her part to ensure their stories resonate with authenticity and depth.
Her debut poetry collection, Burn After Reading, will be available for pre-order on November 11, 2024. She lives in Southern California with her son.
